Material Needs

Do you need help finding furniture, clothes or other essential items?

Note: We may not be able to source everything you are looking for. We work in partnership with wonderful local organisations such as Babes in the Woods and the Reuse Hub who support when they can, but there are no guarantees.

Employability Support

Our Employability Team provides personalised support to help refugees and people seeking asylum build confidence, develop skills, and move closer to employment. Support is tailored to each individual’s needs and goals, and may include:

  • Creating and developing CVs

  • Practising job interviews

  • Searching for job opportunities

  • Finding and securing volunteering roles

In addition, our Employability Team organises employability fairs and workshops that bring together employers and people looking for work. Previous workshops have covered topics such as online job searching and exploring careers within the NHS.

Events & Outings

At Forth Valley Welcome, we believe that everyone deserves the chance to enjoy time together, connect with others, and take part in learning and leisure activities. For people seeking refuge, financial barriers can often make this difficult, so we work to ensure cost is not a barrier. We cover activity fees and provide support with travel expenses so individuals and families can take part fully.

In 2025, we organised a range of outings and events for our community. These included trips to Briarlands, a local farm park with a wide range of activities for children and spaces for family picnics; a photography workshop for adults, which culminated in a community exhibition of participants’ work; and several social celebrations with activities for children and shared meals for everyone.

To take part in these activities, please register for support and indicate your interest.
